How We Teach

Lesson Examples

See what a real EnglishDave lesson looks like — from formal to fun.

Our Approach

We can do many types of lessons

Some people prefer to work on small talk and general fluency within conversations. Some people would like to have free flowing debates about controversial or interesting topics. Some people would like a formal lesson on specific business vocabulary or sentences.

Structured Learning

Formal Lesson

Our formal lessons follow a structured plan with clear objectives. Each session targets specific vocabulary, grammar patterns and professional phrases — ideal for business English and exam preparation.

Conversational Learning

Fun Lesson

Not every lesson needs a textbook. Some of our best sessions are built around a single question that sparks debate, builds vocabulary and gets you speaking naturally.

Q: Do you believe 'air pressure' can have an impact on your mood?

99% of Polish people say yes.

Then I ask them to explain the science behind it :)

Most would struggle to explain to me how exactly it works and then I debate with them the validity of this belief and why it is so commonly accepted here. I am keeping an open mind that it is something I have no experience with, no understanding of and that hopefully it will make sense. During the conversation I will play devil's advocate and see where this fun topic takes us. Usually in many directions!

Lesson Notes

Every lesson includes live corrections, vocabulary tracking and homework — here's how it all comes together.

Microsoft Teams

All online classes happen on Teams.

Google Meet

This is our back-up platform in case Microsoft fails us.

Corrections

During lessons, all teachers will make notes in the chat box as the lesson continues. When you talk and we notice mistakes, we will enter it into the chat box. You can auto correct yourself when you see. Or, we will do revision in the last 10 minutes and go through the notes. We will also give you new or better expressions if we notice you use the same ones or if better ones are available.

Homework

There are millions of great free online sources to help you with your grammar. TEST-ENGLISH is one of our favourites. If we notice you repeat certain grammatical mistakes, we will refer you to specific sites to help you overcome these small stumbles.
